Keep Going and Keep Growing

By Stephanie DeFazio

Now that we have settled into the first few weeks of fall, we can begin to reflect on 2020 and recognize how we have changed and grown throughout an exceptionally challenging year.

From a spiritual point of view, fall is all about the harvest, and with that brings the opportunity to not only see how we've grown, but also to prepare for our next new cycle of growth to come.

What is personal growth all about? To truly master this, we have to take a deeper look at our behavior, and have that inner motivation and desire to improve and change. We also have to be open to moving out of our comfort zone, which may involve learning something new or gaining new skills. We all know that can be uncomfortable sometimes. However, this openness never fails to gift us good things, because as we grow emotionally and mentally, we actually become a more positive and loving person.

Growth begins when we begin to accept our own weakness.

– Jean Vanier, Canadian philosopher

A big part of growth is being humble enough to accept that we have weaknesses. If we cannot recognize and be aware of those things that we want to change, then we can't move forward into the growth stage. Moving forward also means not getting stuck in your past mistakes and letting them keep you from your progress. Keep on going and stay positive. It's never going to be perfect, but the journey of growth is yours to take and embrace.

Don't stay stuck, and go live and love your life. It's as simple as that.

Life doesn't happen to you, it happens for you.

-Tony Robbins, author and motivational speaker

Positivity is so important because it determines how your mindset is going to be as you grow. Are you a victim to your life or are you a victor? Life has its ups and downs, but if we believe that all that happens is actually helping us learn and grow, then we will keep on keeping on. And who knows what kind of excitement could be right around the corner!

And as you are growing and changing, surround yourself with those who believe in you. Stay strong in your growth, and be the genuine you that you are, always!
